About Circumcision
Male circumcision is the removal of the foreskin from the human penis.
Indications for circumcision
- Phimosis (The foreskin of the penis cannot be pulled back past the Glans penis)
- Repeated Paraphimosis
- Religious or Cultural reasons
Contraindications
- Hypospadias or Epispadias
- Curvature of the head of the penis (chordee)
- Ambiguous genitalia
- Premature infants
- Bleeding disorders (hemophilia)
Procedure
It’s a day care procedure, under Local Anaesthesia or General Anaesthesia, the surgical procedure is done. Then a circular dressing is applied around the sutures for 3 days, post of which the patient has to take bath and keep applying antiseptic cream on the suture line three times a day till the sutures fall off.
The patient will feel highly sensitive glans penis, which will reduce by wearing underwear.
Recovery time 1 week
